  • Create opportunities for classroom teachers to hear about and participate in various professional development opportunities as often as possible

  • A better support system is needed for beginner principals. Assign them a mentor who serves as a non-threatening support person. The directors of schools must be willing to work alongside the assigned mentors to optimize the beginner principal’s support.

  • Students, families, and communities change over time, and it is essential that the school and district staff evolve their practices to best provide timely support to ALL students and families, along with the communities that support them.

  • Hire highly qualified teachers, leaders, and support staff at school sites and the district level for a commitment to excellence throughout the district. We must be relentless in providing them the training and resources they need in the most supportive environment so they can better support ALL students.
